Standard, CTO, and Team: choosing a launch strategy

Profiles are not marketing badges. They change who can buy at create time, how many wallets must sign, and what a careful observer should expect to see on-chain.

The short answer

Standard is one creator wallet, optional disclosed creator buy. CTO / Fair forces the creator buy to zero so the create is not paired with a sniped first bag. Team lets you disclose up to four independent buys; each additional wallet must sign its own buy transaction.

Tax-token and campaign profiles appear in the UI as future EVM/product work and cannot be prepared on Solana today.

Standard

Best default for a single operator testing the pipe or launching with a small, disclosed creator buy. One wallet signs create (and optional buy). Creator fee routing stays transparent (shares must total 100% when multiple fee recipients are used in advanced setups).

Strategy read: “One accountable wallet; any early bag is labeled.”

CTO / Fair

The product zeroes the creator buy and keeps the create path open. That does not magically produce community ownership. It only removes the create+buy coupling for the creator wallet.

Strategy read: “No creator buy at mint.” It does not mean no other wallets can buy next block, and it does not mean fee rights or social accounts are decentralized.

Team

Use Team when multiple people will buy at launch and you want that disclosed in the prep UI and receipt. Each non-zero additional buy is signed by that member’s wallet. On mainnet, create + member buys + settlement can land as one Jito bundle; on devnet, create confirms first, then member buys submit sequentially.

Full operator steps: team co-sign launches.

Strategy read: “Multiple disclosed wallets, each control their own keys.” It is not a DAO, and it is not an excuse to omit who got early supply.

How to choose without the narrative fog

  • Solo operator, optional small bag → Standard.
  • You will not buy at create and want that constraint in the UI → CTO / Fair.
  • Multiple people buying at create with independent keys → Team.
  • You need multi-recipient fixed supply on EVM instead → use the Robinhood ERC-20 path, not a Solana profile.

How outsiders should read a launch

Profiles help operators stay consistent; they do not certify honesty. When you evaluate someone else’s launch, still check holder clusters, cloned branding, and social provenance in the threat encyclopedia and bundled supply guides.
